Mark Gelnaw joined KIND in 2017 and brings over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Mark is the Founder and President of Breakwater Ventures, LLC which provides consulting services to emerging ventures across multiple industries. Prior to Breakwater Ventures, Mark Gelnaw served as the Portfolio Manager for Deutsche Bank’s Angel Fund. In conjunction with Stanford University, the Fund focused on investing in technology ventures.
Mark has a passion to assist developing enterprises reach their goals by levering his financial and entrepreneurial skills. Mark has held senior positions at Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers, Salomon Brothers and Arthur Andersen (currently Accenture). During his nine year tenure at Deutsche Bank, Mark Gelnaw held various senior management positions including Global Head of Business Development and Head of Strategic Funds. He also served as Chief Operating Officer for Deutsche Bank’s Equity and Asset Management divisions. In addition to his roles as Chief Operating Officer, he also served in the capacity of Global Head of Equity Finance and the Global Head of Proprietary Trading.
Throughout his career, Mark has been involved in all aspects of business including structuring, marketing, investment management, due diligence as well as serving as a liaison with all the service functions that interface with the business processes. Mark Gelnaw serves on the boards of several entities as well as non-profit organizations. Mark is a Certified Public Accountant with Series 7 and 63 licenses. He is a 1979 graduate of Georgetown University where he earned a BSBA in Accounting.
